About the Role
Mater Misericordiae Ltd is seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant to join our team. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our clinical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist and support clinical teams in providing safe and quality patient-centred care under the direction of the Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse.
- Gather information about patient care needs through observation and notification to the senior clinical staff of identified changes in the health and functional status of patients promptly.
- Assist in the provision of care and support of patients within the scope of Nursing Assistant practice, professional expertise.
- Undertake observations and assessments.
- Follow the direction and delegation of the appropriate senior clinical staff member.
- Assist with the patient's hygiene, appearance and dietary consumption needs; and maintain a safe, sanitary and secure environment for patients.
About You
To be considered suitable for this role, you will be:
- A current Bachelor of Nursing student (completed first clinical placement) OR have a Certificate III in Health Services Assistance.
- Flexible to perform in various wards, adaptability to seamlessly integrate into different teams and work under different NUMs.
- Ability to undertake additional training with Mater to do observations.
- Experience working as a Nursing Assistant within an acute hospital setting (desirable).
- Consistent availability to complete shifts at short notice.
- Commitment to excellence in nursing practice and professional development.
- Demonstrated ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.
- Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.
