Job Title: Fraud Investigations Specialist

We are looking for a highly skilled Fraud Investigations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our fraud prevention and detection unit, you will be responsible for conducting thorough investigations into cases of suspected fraudulent activity.

The Fraud Investigations Management (FIM) team conducts end-to-end investigations into fraud or scams which have impacted customers and works closely with stakeholders in various departments.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage incoming fraud reports from external financial institutions, ensuring timely assessment and appropriate case handling.
  • Conduct proactive investigative work by leveraging internal systems and tools to detect patterns of unusual or suspicious activity on customer accounts.
  • Conduct comprehensive investigations into various fraud cases, identifying the root cause and implementing measures to prevent future occurrences.
  • Take immediate action to mitigate risks on accounts linked to fraudulent activity, ensuring the integrity of our customers' financial information.
  • Ensure that relevant regulatory obligations are understood and met in day-to-day investigations.
  • Communicate directly with internal staff and customers where necessary, providing updates on the status of ongoing investigations.
  • Identify learning opportunities, control weaknesses and drive process improvements based on the analysis of fraudulent activities during investigations.

Requirements:

  • Experience within a fraud function and investigations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines & prioritise workload.
  • An enquiring mind with a good eye for detail.
  • Familiarity with retail banking systems, ability to extract and analyse data and reporting.
