About the Role

As an Accessible Information Writer, you will play a critical role in creating inclusive and accessible communities for people who experience communication difficulties.

Your key focus will be to develop written content for various mediums, including websites, brochures, training materials, reports, articles, and grant applications, in-line with our best-practice standards.

You will work closely with our team to ensure that all content is accessible, clear, and easy to understand, and that our services are communicated effectively to our clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop written content for various mediums, including websites, brochures, training materials, reports, articles, and grant applications.
  • Complete customer work from onboarding, service delivery, billing, and quality assurance.
  • Conduct consumer testing sessions with people with a lived experience of low literacy and provide support as required.
  • Provide information, advice, and consultancy to internal and external customers.
  • Direct appropriate image selection for Easy English documents.
What We Look For
  • You will be a strong advocate for the rights of people with low literacy, including people with intellectual disability.
  • Tertiary qualifications in writing, editing, or another relevant communications field.
  • Demonstrated experience in the production of quality communications that meet the needs of identified audiences.
  • Excellent collaboration, influencing, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with management and staff.
