About the Role

The Civil Project Engineer is a key member of our project delivery team at Civmec, responsible for managing a portion of project scope and contributing to all aspects of project execution, including construction, quality, commercial, and management activities.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Monitor procurement of materials, cast ins, and consumables for a portion of project scope to ensure works can proceed as per schedule.
  • Regularly inspect works during construction to ensure quality control and construction as per drawings and specifications, working closely with supervisors to achieve project objectives.
  • Liaise with client representatives regarding technical queries, inspections, project scheduling, and coordinating deliveries.
  • Review, create, issue, and follow up on request for information (RFIs) and technical queries (TQs), ensuring the register is up to date.
  • Resolve technical issues in an expedient and cost-effective manner.
  • Identify, raise, and manage variations to the contract, working with senior engineers and contracts administrators as required.
  • Understand and implement quality control techniques, ensuring ITPs are adhered to.
  • Prepare and issue weekly status reports, providing accurate daily, weekly, and monthly reports as directed.
  • Monitor budgeted, actual, and earned man-hours against project schedule and cost codes for a portion of project scope on a weekly basis for QMR.
  • Maintain project files and all civil tracking registers, delegating tasks to junior and graduate engineers as required.
  • Prepare work schedules, work packs, and material requisitions.
  • Maintain company standards for quality assurance purposes.
  • Prepare forecasts for a portion of project scope for concrete, bolts, and reo for submission to senior and lead project engineers.
  • Complete red line drawings as required.
  • Manage a portion of project scope survey and geotechnical requirements, providing forecasts to lead and senior engineers as required.
About You
  • Tertiary qualifications in structural, civil engineering, or construction management.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a civil project engineer.
  • Experience working on large-scale civil construction projects.
  • Proficient knowledge in MS Office suite.
  • Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
