Lead Strategic Design Projects

As a seasoned UX/Product designer, you will develop an in-depth understanding of domain knowledge across platform products. You will have enough expertise to link the dots and see the big picture as we develop additional multi-disciplinary projects.

You will be hands-on and own strategic design projects that shape key customer experiences. Working with cross-functional teams including product managers and engineers, you will understand user needs and develop innovative design solutions. You will translate findings into simple yet engaging user experiences across platforms.

  • You will navigate through ambiguity, exploring conceptual ideas, job-to-be-done, competitive landscapes, and operating with business acumen to help achieve product market fit.
  • As a leader, you will mentor a team of product designers, providing guidance to help them grow their skills. You will set clear career paths and coach designers regularly.
  • You will oversee the end-to-end user experience designs of your team across desktop, mobile web, and app. Using your structural product knowledge, you will steer your team's designs as they meet product requirements.
  • You will provide concrete, actionable feedback to your team members, helping them progress through stakeholder and project challenges.
  • Proactively, you will establish and evolve our design system and guidelines to ensure effective support, consistency, and high quality across all of our products. You will promote a feedback-driven design culture focused on user outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of domain knowledge across platform products.
  • Owning strategic design projects, you will shape key customer experiences.
  • Working with cross-functional teams, you will understand user needs and develop innovative design solutions.
  • Navigate ambiguity by exploring conceptual ideas, job-to-be-done, competitive landscapes, and operating with business acumen.
  • Mentor a team of product designers, guiding them to grow their skills.
  • Oversee the end-to-end user experience designs of your team across multiple platforms.
  • Provide actionable feedback to team members, helping them progress through challenges.
  • Establish and evolve our design system and guidelines for high-quality products.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience as a UX/Product designer, including 4+ years in a leadership role managing designers.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced tech start-up environment.
  • Strong product logic and first-principle thinking.
  • Ability to explore and thrive in ambiguous project contexts.
  • Solid track record of project management and delivery.
  • Outcome-oriented.
  • Financial industry experience is a plus, but intellectual curiosity is essential.
