Position Overview

An exciting opportunity exists for a Geotechnical Engineer to become part of our expanding operations.

The role will initially involve substantial fieldwork, offering the chance for both local assignments and travel. Typical responsibilities include:

  • Planning, coordinating, and executing geotechnical investigations, encompassing fieldwork and laboratory testing scheduling
  • Conducting field testing methods and collecting rock and soil samples for laboratory analysis
  • Providing construction phase site assessment and investigation services
  • Interpreting geotechnical data obtained during site investigations, performing analyses, and formulating recommendations to compile geotechnical factual reports
  • Assisting with geotechnical evaluations for foundations, slope stability, pavement designs, earthworks, and other geo-structures
  • Managing tasks in accordance with relevant technical guidelines, codes, and standards
  • Supporting the management of timelines, budgets, and resources on projects
  • Engaging in project planning and preparing technical deliverables under the guidance of a senior engineer
  • Proactively communicating and reporting on opportunities, risks, hazards, incidents, technical deviations, and achievements

As time progresses, we anticipate our field staff transitioning from predominantly field-based roles to office-based positions, focusing on analysis, design, and reporting for a variety of geotechnical engineering projects across building, infrastructure, and energy/resources sectors.

The salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $100,000 per annum, plus superannuation.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes and experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, or a related discipline
  • Experience in site investigation and/or construction phase geotechnical services is advantageous
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Team-oriented with the capacity to interact effectively with individuals across various industry roles
  • A valid driver's license
