About Our Livestock Career Development Program

We are committed to helping ambitious individuals pursue their dreams in the livestock industry.

Job Description

This is a 24-month program that will provide you with the skills and training you need to become a future leader or technical expert within the Livestock Industry.

You will be involved in four leadership and skill-building workshops, receive on-the-job training, and have mentors assigned to you to provide ongoing support.

As part of our Livestock Career Development Program, you'll have the opportunity to work in both saleyard and branch environments, being mentored and guided by experienced livestock employees and leaders, learning effective selling and relationship building techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accelerate your learning opportunities to kick-start your career within Livestock
  • Pursue professional networking opportunities to socialize with peers and leaders across the business
  • Have placement mobility once the 24-month program concludes, potentially moving locations to ensure a fulfilling experience
  • Develop business skills such as compliance, sales, client relationship building, communication, marketing, and social media, understanding finance, problem-solving, and negotiation, as well as leading and managing a team
  • Leverage livestock skills such as next-generation stock and station agency skills, livestock productivity, animal health and nutrition, auctions, wool technical requirements, and emerging technology
Requirements
  • Demonstrate a strong desire to learn and succeed in the Livestock industry
  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills and strong negotiation abilities
  • Successfully complete Year 12
  • Have worked successfully for at least 24 months within the Agricultural industry, ideally within Livestock
  • Be willing to relocate at the conclusion or throughout the program
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or Australian permanent resident
  • Be vaccinated or willing to receive the Q Fever vaccination
  • Possess the ability to work in a team environment
  • Show willingness to learn, strong communication and problem-solving skills, and leadership potential
  • Genuinely demonstrate interest and desire to work and learn about the Livestock Industry
