Green Space Specialist Job Opportunity

At a local council, we strive to create a positive impact on our community through our work in parks, gardens, and landscaped areas.

Job Role Overview

As a Green Space Specialist, you will be working as part of a team responsible for maintaining and improving Council's Parks, Gardens, and other landscaped areas with a focus on Sylvan Grove Native Gardens.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity that requires a dedicated and driven individual to join our team and contribute to delivering high-quality green spaces for the community.

  • Maintain gardens, including annuals, native & non-native, high-profile areas, and other landscaped spaces, according to service requirements, agreements, rosters, and programs.
  • Provide recommendations for mulching, watering, maintenance, embellishment, and improvement, and implement as required.
  • Develop on-the-job skills and training for staff, ensuring knowledge sharing and skill enhancement.
  • Conduct risk and hazard assessments of all areas under your control and take corrective action where necessary.
  • Identify, report, and rectify landscape deficiencies, particularly in garden and landscape area maintenance.
  • Assist and advise management, staff, customers, and the community as needed.
  • Ensure all works are completed within allocated timeframes.
