Catering Assistant

Make a positive impact in our residents' lives by providing healthy, hearty meals prepared by our Chef.

  • This permanent part-time position offers a fortnightly roster with varied shifts to suit your schedule.
About the Role

As a Catering Assistant, you will support the Chef and team in delivering high-quality catering services. You will work closely with the Care team to plate and deliver meals, ensuring familiarity with menus and residents' needs and preferences.

You will also be responsible for completing cleaning tasks according to the schedule, documenting residents' requirements, and maintaining a safe food handling environment.

  • Familiarity with food preparation and safety practices is essential for this role.
  • Experience in working with diverse groups and prioritizing tasks efficiently would be beneficial.

Our ideal candidate is committed to continuous quality improvement and has excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support service delivery under the direction of the Chef/Cook.
  • Prepare daily meals and beverages that meet individual needs, including special dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural preferences.
  • Work with the Care team to plate and deliver meals.
  • Complete cleaning tasks according to the cleaning schedule.
  • Document residents' requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience in food preparation and safety practices.
  • Food Handling Certificate (HLTFSE001) - Desirable.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workloads.
  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement.
  • Knowledge of WH&S and Infection Control.
