Transforming steel into smart products and solutions requires a skilled professional who can evaluate and improve our offerings. As a key member of our Product Prototyping and Evaluation team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and performance of our products.

  • Evaluating new and existing products to ensure compliance with their key value propositions
  • Resolving issues and identifying opportunities through thorough evaluation and testing
  • Conducting laboratory-based testing with our products
  • Preparing and conducting performance assessments and testing of our products
  • Analyzing and evaluating findings and contributing to enhancing product technology and quality

You will bring your passion and commitment to technical expertise, attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and your commitment to safety, quality, and innovation.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering/Science or relevant industry experience
  • Knowledge of laboratory operation, systems, and documentation including safety and quality
  • Experience in designing and executing experiments, and recording your findings
  • A technical acumen with the ability to translate technical information into value-add business outcomes
  • Exposure or knowledge of surface metrology, mechanical testing, welding, steel, metallic-coated steel, or pre-painted products
