Job Title: Financial Accountant

About The Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced financial accountant to join our team. As a key member of the finance department, you will be responsible for providing financial accounting services, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting the operational management of the town's finance functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide accurate and timely financial reporting, including monthly and annual statements.
  • Administer and accurately record all revenue and expenditure accounts in accordance with relevant legislation and standards.
  • Ensure monthly balance sheet and trust account reconciliations are up to date.
  • Manage the town's financial information management system, ensuring business unit requirements are met.
Requirements:
  • Possession of tertiary qualifications in accounting or a related discipline.
  • Significant industry experience in a relevant or similar discipline.
  • Qualification as a chartered accountant or certified public accountant (CA/CPA).
  • A minimum of five years' experience in local government.
  • A high level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Benefits:

This is a fixed-term full-time contract that attracts a salary up to $118,000 per annum, plus superannuation. We also offer free parking, ongoing training and professional development, and flexible working arrangements.

Working Arrangements:

The position is a full-time, 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday role with flexibility options available. We support employees having access to flexible working arrangements to help them manage work and life responsibilities.
