Job Title: Trade Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Trade Assistant to join our team at Mexx Engineering.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will work in accordance with standard operating procedures and established criteria, under direct supervision, either individually or in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform machine assembly, testing, commissioning, and installation
  • Study drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method, and sequence of operations, and machine settings
  • Fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and subassemblies to produce machines and equipment
  • Forming metal stock and castings to fine tolerances using machining tools to press, cut, grind, plane, bore, and drill metal
  • Cutting, threading, bending, and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
  • Erect machines and equipment on-site
Requirements
  • AQF Certificate I, or compulsory secondary education
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in automation or manufacturing industry, preferred but not essential
  • Previous experience with welding and cutting machine operation is highly beneficial
Desirable Skills and Attributes
  • A current Australian Driver's License
  • Forklift or EWP license
  • First Aid Certificate
  • White Card
