
Data Centre Maintenance Specialist

This is a critical role within our team, supporting the maintenance, repair and incident response of key services and systems.
The successful candidate will be responsible for responding to alerts and alarms, prioritizing rectification and determining whether escalation is required to third-party contractors.
They will also perform regular inspections to ensure all critical infrastructure is operating as designed and identify any potential risks.
The shift team member will work closely with other teams to ensure smooth operations and provide support to clients as required.
This role requires strong technical skills, including fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a similar environment, with a trade or tertiary qualification in a relevant field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond quickly to service requests and emergency faults.
- Undertake initial fault finding on equipment and implement remediation.
- Provide estimated timelines for repairs and communicate with internal teams.
- Critical switching in event of failure to ensure no disruption to services.
- Complete planned contractor maintenance activities in accordance with procedures.
- Timely handover of work to ensure clean transition between shifts.
- Conduct daily site reviews to ensure infrastructure is operating correctly.
- Assist with addressing issues identified within maintenance reports.
- Communicate identified risks immediately.
- Provide support to clients as required.
- Enforce safe work practices in accordance with policies.
- Assist with writing procedures for critical maintenance and emergency operations.
- Trade or Tertiary qualification (Electrical - Refrigeration - Mechanical - Mechatronics - Fire - Telecommunications).
- 2+ Years - Trade or Critical Facilities Experience.
- Prior experience in critical infrastructure environments and adhering to strict procedures and policies.
- Prior experience operating Building Management Systems (BMS) or Energy Management Systems (EMS).
- Exposure to data centre equipment - CRAC units, UPS, Generators, Fire, etc.
- Demonstrated experience in managing site critical infrastructure to ensure continuity of services.
- Demonstrated experience in utilising electronic monitoring system to proactively monitor site conditions.
- Strong documentation skills and technical fault-finding skills.
- Experience in identifying improvements to processes and procedures related to service response and maintenance.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical audience.
- Australian citizenship and ability to obtain NV1 Security Clearance.
- Comply with CDC Policies and Procedures.
- Work on a rotational 12-hour shift roster.
