A challenging opportunity has arisen for a skilled Dementia professional to join the Dementia Support Australia team at HammondCare on a temporary full-time basis. The successful candidate will be based at our Waratah Site and will be responsible for providing expert advisory services to support staff in delivering best practice dementia care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide dementia-specific expert advisory services to support staff in delivering best practice dementia care.
- Build staff capacity through education, mentoring, and coaching in practice.
- Plan engagement with individuals and teams to achieve agreed practice development objectives and quality improvements.
- Work on projects and assignments as required, utilizing agreed HammondCare and Dementia Centre processes.
- Participate in team meetings, professional supervision, and team activities to contribute to the Dementia Centre team.
- Expertise in supporting people living with dementia.
- Demonstrated skills in teaching, mentoring, and coaching others.
- Experience in Australian residential aged care and/or community aged care.
- High level of negotiation, communication, and relationship building skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with excellent administration skills.
- A current Australian driver's license and willingness to travel.
- Empathy and patience.
- Relevant qualification in Nursing.
