Job Title: Tax Accountant

Tax accountants play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.

  • The role involves preparing and reviewing financial statements, tax returns, and compliance reports for individuals, businesses, and trusts.

As an intermediate, senior, or manager-level tax accountant, you will be responsible for providing strategic tax planning and advisory services to clients.

  • You will need to liaise with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and other regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with tax laws.
  • Conducting tax research and staying up-to-date with legislative changes is also essential.
  • For senior/manager roles, you will supervise and mentor junior staff, while also assisting with business advisory services and financial strategies.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) qualification or be currently completing your CPA studies.
  • Experience in public practice accounting, with a minimum of 3 years for Intermediate, 5 years for Senior, and 7 years for Manager.
  • A strong understanding of Australian tax legislation and compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or similar.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines.
