Community Development Director
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled professional to lead our Community Development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for building a connected, inclusive, and resilient community through the delivery of programs and initiatives that strengthen social cohesion, health, and wellbeing across diverse population groups.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in community development, including leading teams and implementing strategies to foster belonging and participation in community life. They will also possess strong communication and administrative skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital tools.
Responsibilities- Lead a community development team to deliver programs and initiatives that promote social cohesion and improve health and wellbeing outcomes
- Develop and implement strategies to foster a sense of belonging and participation in community life among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, youth, seniors, people with disability, and culturally diverse communities
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to implement community development initiatives and achieve project goals
- Tertiary qualifications in Community Development, Social Planning, or a related field
- Current Working with Children's Check, Class C Driver's Licence, and First Aid Certificate
- Extensive experience leading community development initiatives and supervising multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders and negotiate outcomes at individual, team, and community levels
- Strong administrative and budget management skills, including oversight of grants and funding proposals
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital tools
