Opportunity to Enhance International Student Experience

The University of Western Australia is seeking enthusiastic and engaging PhD candidates or Masters by Research students to join our Study Tours program as Casual Tutors. This role involves delivering tutorial-style lessons and interactive workshops to international students visiting UWA as part of their study tours.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver tutorials and workshops to groups of international students, making complex topics accessible and interesting.
  • Conduct interactive demonstrations related to your area of research, showcasing your expertise.
  • Engage students from diverse backgrounds, fostering a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.
  • Tailor sessions to the needs and interests of visiting groups, ensuring a high-quality educational experience.
About You

To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate:

  • Current PhD candidate or Masters by Research student at UWA or another university in Western Australia.
  • A confident and engaging teaching style, with excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to make complex topics understandable and interesting, particularly with non-native English speakers.
  • Experience in delivering interactive and engaging workshops, with a passion for education.

This role requires flexibility to accommodate varying schedules, and is open to current UWA staff or those with relevant rights to work in Australia.
