About The Role

This position involves strong governance, patient advocacy, and engagement with the health system through multiple domains of responsibility, including clinical care, communication, and engagement with services and external agencies.

Requirements
  • A relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences
  • Current registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia
  • Appointment as a Rural Generalist Senior Medical Officer (Level 18 to Level 27) or Provisional Fellow Rural Generalist Senior Medical Officer (Level 13 to Level 14)
  • Advanced skills in specified areas, such as Adult Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Remote Medicine, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health, Mental Health, Palliative Care, Small Town General Practice, Population Health, Academic Practice, Anaesthetics, or Obstetrics
  • C Class Motor Vehicle Licence

Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks. This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to specific diseases. A period of probation may apply.
