About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic individual to join our Planning, Transport and Regulation (PTR) team as a Principal Development Officer (Planning). This is a leadership role that requires advanced professional planning and development knowledge and technical expertise to ensure that new development in the City of Newcastle is consistent with planning instruments, development policies, relevant codes and environmental legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide training and mentoring to the PTR team
  • Manage more complex development projects, legal appeals and provide policy advice
  • Support the PTR Service Unit with advanced professional planning and development knowledge and technical expertise
