Job Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and culturally aware Indigenous Education Liaison Officer to support Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students and families.

About the Role

This position requires a professional who can work independently and collaboratively to design and lead school-based interventions, engaging regional services and external agencies to strengthen student wellbeing, engagement, and educational outcomes.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide educational counselling and support services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children and students across multiple schools.
  • Develop and foster relationships between the school, families, and Elders to assist Indigenous students remain engaged with education, training, and/or long-term employment.
  • Establish and maintain links with out-of-school sources of information and support services to advance Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and students.
  • Conduct home visits with students and their families to advise and provide strategies for a more positive educational experience.

The successful applicant will be appointed to the lower classification with eligibility for progression to the next, once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated.
