Job Description

We are seeking reliable and outgoing Disability Support Workers to join our team on the Sunshine Coast and surrounding regions. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual impairments, mental health, and/or physical disabilities to achieve their goals.

This is a great opportunity for experienced support workers to make a real difference in people's lives while working in a supportive environment.

Mandatory Requirements
  • Minimum Cert III or higher in relevant field
  • 12+ months experience working in a similar role
  • QLD Blue Card/ Working with Children Check
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
  • First Aid Certificate (current)
  • CPR Certificate (current)
  • Able to provide 100 points of ID incl. evidence of work rights in Australia
  • National Police Check (current) - relevant & not older than 6 months
  • COVID Vaccinated (2 doses)
  • Unrestricted Open QLD Driver Licence
  • Own reliable transport (willing to use for work)
  • Full Comprehensive Car Insurance
  • Smartphone (iOS or Android)

  • Manual Handling/ transfers
  • Qualifications in Mental Health/ complex/ challenging behaviour, sought after
  • Personal Care Assistance/ Personal Hygiene
  • Medication Assistance & Administration
  • PEG Feeding
  • Bowel & Catheter Care
  • Youth Work
  • MAYBO
  • Diabetes & Epilepsy Management
  • TCI (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention) & Trauma
  • Experience in Motor Neuron Disease (MND)
The Role
  • We are looking for support workers to commit to regular and consistent shift schedules including day/ night, weekend and Public Holiday shifts.
  • Support individuals of all ages with intellectual impairments, mental health and/or physical disabilities.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication and resilience skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different individuals and situations.
  • Must be creative and resourceful to assist customers achieve their goals.
  • Passionate about providing high-quality care and support to each individual.

Please note that this role requires a high level of physical fitness due to the demands of manual handling and supporting individuals with disabilities.
