Job Title: Senior Electrical Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced electrical technician to join our team as a senior member. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of traffic signal infrastructure.

About the Role:
  • This is a permanent, flexible role that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring the effective application of specialized expertise to deliver program outcomes during electrical asset inspections and works associated with installation, testing, and maintenance of traffic signal infrastructure.
  • You will also be responsible for identifying traffic signal equipment malfunctions and faults to complex operational/technical problems when required, including identifying traffic flow or congestion issues.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Evaluate and diagnose technical problems with traffic signals and other assets.
  2. Determine the root cause of malfunctions and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  3. Develop and maintain knowledge of specialized management software, including SCATS, STREAMS, CCTV, and other control systems.
  4. Work closely with stakeholders to provide clear and authoritative advice and recommendations for complex activities during the design, planning, and delivery of complex programmed works.
Requirements:
  • Mandatory qualifications include Open Cabler Accreditation and Fibre Endorsement.
  • A thorough understanding of Tasmanian State Service Award specifications and Australian Standards is essential.
  • The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
