As a skilled tradesperson, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of our stainless steel equipment. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be part of an experienced team responsible for performing a wide range of preventative maintenance and breakdown tasks.

The Job:

Key responsibilities include fabricating or repairing stainless steel components, undertaking project work that utilises your fitting or welding skills, responding quickly and effectively to breakdowns, and ensuring minimum downtime of all plant systems.

  • Stainless steel fabrication or repairs
  • Project work, utilising either your fitting or welding skills
  • Responding to breakdowns quickly and effectively
  • Demonstrating strong fault finding and problem resolution capabilities
  • Working with production teams to identify and introduce continuous improvement initiatives
  • Completion of documentation and record keeping requirements in a timely manner
  • Working constructively within a team environment
  • Maintaining a strong focus on safety
Requirements:
  • Current mechanical / trade certificate
  • Good welding and fabrication skills
  • A commercial or industrial background - meat industry experience is highly desirable
  • Experience working in food processing environments will be highly regarded
  • Highly developed fault finding and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and work as part of a team
  • Strong understanding of GMP & HACCP requirements
