Job Title: Financial Crime Compliance Officer

We are seeking a seasoned Financial Crime Compliance Officer to oversee and advise on financial crime compliance matters in Australia and New Zealand.

The successful candidate will have recent experience as a Compliance Lead and/or Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for an Australian financial institution, preferably with knowledge of the Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC).

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing compliance advice to local, regional, and global teams to ensure risk management and mitigation policies are in place and adequately addressed in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of policies and procedures, ensuring they are up-to-date with regulatory requirements and international standards.
  • Developing and performing annual country-specific AML/CTF/PF risk assessments for Australia and New Zealand.
  • Maintaining oversight of regulatory compliance requirements for Australia and New Zealand, including regulatory notifications and conditions for authorization.
  • Acting as the lead point of contact for Checkout's financial regulators in Australia and New Zealand.

Key Requirements

  • Recent experience as a Compliance Lead and/or MLRO for an Australian financial institution, preferably with AUSTRAC knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of Australian and New Zealand financial crime regulations, including anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CTF) laws.
  • Excellent communication and advisory skills, with the ability to provide timely and precise advice to internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a high-performing team and contribute to group projects as needed.
