Electrical Engineering Specialist Role

We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Specialist to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in designing and developing protection schemes for high-voltage and medium-voltage substations, transmission, and distribution networks.

This involves preparing and reviewing relay protection settings, logic diagrams, and scheme drawings in compliance with AS/NZS standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive protection schemes for HV/MV substations, transmission, and distribution networks.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, including relay protection settings, logic diagrams, and scheme drawings, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
  • Conduct protection coordination studies, short circuit analysis, load flow, and stability studies using industry software (ETAP, PowerFactory, DigSILENT).
  • Create detailed specifications for protective relays, CTs/VTs, circuit breakers, and associated control/protection panels.
  • Collaborate with utilities, EPC contractors, and OEMs to select and configure protection equipment.
  • Produce technical reports, single-line diagrams, and functional specifications.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of AS/NZS standards and WHS legislation.
  • Expertise in protection coordination, SCADA integration, fault diagnosis, and root cause analysis of HV/MV equipment.
  • Ability to stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering technologies and best practices.
  • Technical troubleshooting skills with attention to detail.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Willingsness to travel to different project sites.
