Strategic Precinct Lead

This role involves leading a team responsible for the planning and implementation of strategic projects within a precinct. Reporting to the Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the development of strategies, policies, and plans that align with the department's goals.

You will work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet their requirements. This includes advising on planning policy, implementing key deliverables, and providing strategic oversight of the Vision and Framework for the precinct.

The Strategic Precinct Lead will lead complex negotiations with internal and external stakeholders to influence outcomes and achieve objectives. You will contribute to governance, resource management, and priority project delivery while building staff capability and fostering a positive culture.

The team delivers across concurrent workstreams including urban planning, place creation, sustainability, infrastructure, and design strategy/policy development and implementation.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Accomplished leadership skills with strong people and team management expertise.
  • Ability to translate organisational strategy into effective team structures, roles, and capabilities.
  • Collaborative leadership style with excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor degree or higher in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Project Management, Development, or related field.
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Victorian planning system.
