Senior Permitting and Consents Manager

RWE Renewables Australia Pty Ltd is expanding its offshore wind team and seeking a Senior Permitting and Consents Manager to join its Australian operations. This role will play a critical part in developing and implementing RWE's permitting and consenting strategy in Australia, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and facilitating the successful delivery of offshore wind projects.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee the delivery of consents for RWE's initial project in Gippsland, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.
- Build and manage a team of consents professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development and effective project delivery.
- Maintain an overview of all consenting activity in Australia, coordinating with project teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Collaborate with the country leadership team to contribute to RWE's consenting strategy, ensuring the company's efficiency and project success in Australia.
- Engage with relevant consents stakeholders to share RWE's insights and international experience, promoting best practices and knowledge sharing.
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Environmental Sciences, or a related field, with advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of professional experience in infrastructure project development and construction, with 2+ years of demonstrated experience in permitting and environmental compliance for renewable energy projects in Australia.
- Significant technical knowledge of Australian Federal and State permitting processes and regulatory requirements.
- Effective organisation and project management skills, with proven ability to manage complex projects and multiple stakeholders.
- High interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to tailor messages to audiences and communicate complex topics clearly and concisely.
