About the Role

L3Harris is seeking a highly skilled FPGA Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge digital circuits and embedded systems for our defense and aerospace customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop modular, readable, and robust digital circuits and embedded systems using VHDL/Verilog and C++.
  • Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, systems engineering, agile development, review, testing, integration, and verification.
  • Present design details during customer reviews and collaborate effectively with both software and other engineering disciplines.
  • Write and maintain internal and deliverable documentation, either directly or through supervision of contractors.
  • Provide engineering support to manufacturing as required and participate in demo activities to share knowledge.
  • Maintain a continuous improvement mindset and stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends.

Requirements

  • Degree in Software, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in similar roles, with a strong background in digital circuit design and embedded systems development.
  • Experience with Xilinx Zynq SoCs and developing firmware in VHDL and/or Verilog for FPGAs.
  • Experience in developing software for microcontrollers in C/C++ bare metal or with RTOS.
  • Excellent computer skills and excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

Desirable Requirements

  • Ability to read and review schematics and make recommendations on hardware designs.
  • Experience developing custom peripheral interfaces on programmable logic.
  • Experience with complex algorithm design on programmable logic with space constraints.
  • Experience with Python or another scripting language for emulation of hardware or software verification.
