Campus Student Support Assistant

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Campus Student Support Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our campus community, you will provide essential support to students with additional learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with specialist learning support teachers to develop and implement individualized support plans for students with disabilities.
  • Provide one-to-one support to students, enabling full participation in classroom activities and education programs.
  • Liaise efficiently with classroom teachers and campus learning support teachers to ensure seamless student support.
  • Maintain accurate learning records and participate in regular team meetings to discuss student progress.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A certificate IV in education support (with previous experience desirable), or certificate III in education support with recent relevant experience.
  • Strong commitment to dignity, respect, and unconditional positive regard in day-to-day interactions.
  • Ability to adapt support across academic, social, and self-care contexts.
  • Openness to training in key programs and strategies, such as zones of regulation and structured literacy.
  • Reliability and organisational skills to enable the learning support teacher to use planning/release time effectively.
  • Ability to provide respectful support with toileting and hygiene needs, following student care plans, maintaining confidentiality, and upholding the student's dignity at all times.
  • Understanding of AAC, visuals, and strategies for supporting expressive/receptive language.

Our campus is located on the outskirts of Bairnsdale, in the charming village of Lucknow. The historic building is outfitted with cutting-edge technology to support both online and in-person teaching.
