Job Title: Director, Strategic Planning

This is a senior leadership position responsible for driving the development of strategic plans at a centre of excellence within a higher education institution.

The Director will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction of the institution by designing and implementing a robust strategic planning framework, developing and facilitating key strategies, and ensuring alignment between University-wide and local strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading high-performing teams and developing effective strategies to drive organisational growth and success.
  • Demonstrating expertise in strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Developing and implementing policies, procedures, and processes to support organisational objectives.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to deliver strategic insights, manage complex planning processes, and align diverse teams around a shared strategic vision.
  • Providing leadership and operational management capabilities, including financial management, workforce planning, and policy development.

The appointment is subject to completion of a satisfactory probation period for new appointees. Employment is conditional upon completion of all role required pre-employment or background checks in terms satisfactory to the employer.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • 10+ years experience in strategy, with over six years' experience in a top-tier strategy consulting environment, complemented by senior-level roles in higher education or similarly complex settings.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field, or equivalent training and experience.
  • Advanced facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence senior executive decisions.
