We're seeking a skilled journalist to join our team as a News Content Creator. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to take their career to the next level.

The successful candidate will be responsible for covering breaking news and developing engaging stories. They'll work closely with our SEO and social media teams to identify story opportunities and create compelling content that resonates with our audience.

As a key member of our content creation team, you'll have the chance to work on a wide range of projects, from daily news conferences to major events and local news coverage. You'll also be expected to pitch your own content ideas and collaborate with other departments to deliver high-quality results.

To be successful in this role, you'll need to have a strong track record of sourcing original news and feature stories. You'll also require excellent knowledge of Adobe Photoshop or Canva and a solid understanding of legal best practice, including defamation laws.

In addition, you'll need to have a good grasp of analytics and SEO best practice. If you're a motivated and creative individual with a passion for storytelling, we'd love to hear from you.

This is a full-time position that may include weekend and evening work. We're looking for someone who is flexible and able to adapt to changing deadlines and priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cover breaking news and develop engaging stories
  • Pitch your own content ideas and work with our SEO and social media teams
  • Collaborate with other departments to deliver high-quality results
  • Work across analytics and SEO to identify story opportunities
  • Create compelling story block images for the homepage
  • Help plan content for major events and local news coverage

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as a news journalist looking to take the next step in your career
  • Able to source original news and feature stories
  • Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop or Canva
  • Excellent understanding of legal best practice, including defamation laws
