Job Title: Catering Utility Services Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a Catering Utility Services Assistant to join the Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network team. As a key member of the Services Department, you will be responsible for providing a timely, efficient, and effective catering, cleaning, and laundry service within the health unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a high-quality catering service to patients and staff
  • Conduct thorough cleaning of wards, resident and patient care areas, doctors' accommodation, and other departments within the Health Unit
  • Participate in ongoing job rotation through multi-skilling arrangements, including catering assistant duties, delivery, collection, and disposal of linen
  • Work collaboratively with the team to ensure the timely completion of tasks as directed

Requirements

  • Previous experience in providing a catering service or in cleaning in a commercial or health environment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and use initiative and judgment in day-to-day execution of the position
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with all staff, patients, visitors, and clients while exercising courtesy and tact

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience in providing a catering service or in cleaning in a commercial or health environment
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member and communicate with all staff, patients, visitors, and clients
  • High degree of initiative and judgment, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
