About the Role

The APS is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the Outside External Maintenance Period (EMP) team at Regional Maintenance Centre West (RMC-W). As a key member of the RMC-W team, you will be responsible for managing the rectification of urgent defects, coordinating with Regional Maintenance Providers, and ensuring the successful execution of Ship Maintenance Periods and Defect Rectification Periods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage allocated resources, set work area priorities, and develop strategies to achieve business outcomes.
  • Lead a team, providing consistent communication, setting clear performance and behavioural standards, managing performance, delegating responsibility, and guiding and developing people.
  • Monitor the planning and execution of URDEF rectification, SMPs/DRPs, and flyaway teams.
  • Monitor Unscheduled Contractor Task Allowance (UCTA) budgets.
  • Integrate FSU intermediate level maintenance outside of EMPs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and provide constructive feedback.
  • Review, analyse, and report on product performance.

Requirements
  • Previous experience in management of defect rectification.
  • Experience in customer/supplier relationship environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to effectively translate understanding of quality requirements and performance risks to practical application within the RMC.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Results driven, agile in work practices.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communications.
  • Demonstrate initiative and provide sound judgement.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
Desirable Requirements
  • Demonstrated understanding of Defence Project requirements.
  • Relevant Technical, Project Management or Asset Management qualifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team environment.
