We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to join our team at Urbis, a leading built environment consultancy.

As the Enterprise Architect, you will play a pivotal role in aligning the business strategic vision with our technology by developing and maintaining data architecture standards, policies, and best practices.


You will be responsible for understanding all aspects of the company's architecture and ensuring that the business's technological systems are scalable, reliable, secure, and support our goals.


Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:



  • Providing thought leadership and guidance on enterprise applications and cloud architecture principles
  • Collaborating with stakeholders, business representatives, and technical resources to understand and translate business needs into technology solutions
  • Identifying system interdependencies and collaborating with project teams to ensure effective and efficient project delivery
  • Ensuring that the design and integration of proposed systems, software, and hardware solutions lead to the development and growth of the business through effective use of technology
  • Monitoring and analysing IT trends and developments to ensure architecture is kept up to date
  • Developing, documenting, and communicating plans for investing in systems architecture, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities
  • Developing and maintaining the design of the data landscape, data management components, data platform, and analytical components, adopting security best practices
  • Developing & maintaining organisation wide Architecture diagrams, technical documentation & code repos
  • Supporting the Head of Data & Applications in identifying ongoing revenue/commercialisation opportunities for the company
  • Understanding business problems and desired outcomes to design data architecture that are efficient & scalable; able to present these solutions to business stakeholders
  • Mentoring junior members of Technology & Digital team & contributing to technical leadership and team culture that supports knowledge sharing, innovation and excellence
  • Sharing knowledge and 'how to' processes within the team through ongoing learning and development, including the preparation of process documentation

About You:


To be successful in this role, you will require:



  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering/Computer Science or Data Science
  • At least 5 years' experience in data management with proficiency in Microsoft Azure Cloud computing platform (specifically Synapse); Expert Azure certifications (Azure Solutions Architect and/or Azure DevOps Engineer) desirable
  • Proficiency with SQL, Python
  • Demonstrable experience and proficiency with strong technical skills in Enterprise Architecture design & management
  • Strong Understanding of data governance and taxonomy
  • A passion for the application of data to urban design and planning, with an understanding of the complexities of urban systems
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies in data management
  • A background in technical consulting is desirable

Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience.


Location: Our office locations vary, but we can consider remote work arrangements.
