Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Portable Fire Technician to join our team in Melbourne. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fire protection equipment maintenance, repair, and testing.
About the Role:
This role involves conducting routine maintenance, repairs, and testing of portable fire protection equipment, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards. The successful candidate will also provide exceptional customer service, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and maintain accurate service records using smart device technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and repair of portable fire protection equipment according to Australian Standards
- Routine testing of fire protection equipment in accordance with Australian Standards
- Providing excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ensuring compliance with Environmental Health and Safety requirements
- Completing service records accurately using smart device technology
Requirements:
- Fire industry experience is highly regarded
- Valid VBA licence for fire hose reels and unpumped hydrants (preferred but not essential)
- Current driver's licence
- Strong focus on workplace safety and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
- Excellent time management and customer service skills
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Good personal presentation and adaptability
- Ability to multi-skill into other areas of fire protection
- Proficiency in computer/smart device technology skills
