Environmental Superintendent Job Description

At MMG Australia, we are committed to creating a leading international mining company for a low-carbon future. We are seeking an experienced Environmental Superintendent to join our team at the Dugald River Mine.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Compliance management, environmental monitoring, and statutory reporting to ensure all activities meet required timeframes and regulatory obligations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a strong team of environmental professionals, inspiring them to act with innovation and achieve high performance with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate environmental risks; proactively implementing sustainable controls.
  • Engage and oversee all environmental contract and contractor management ensuring alignment with all compliance requirements.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental management, planning, engineering, or a related field and/or relevant industry experience, plus several years on a metalliferous mine site.
  • Strong foundational understanding of environment management with an exceptional understanding of environmental legislation.
  • Experience leading a team, managing contractors, and influencing leaders to drive effective controls to ensure adherence to legislation and company requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability and understanding of the Environmental Management System, including development, implementation, improvements, and auditing.
