Dynamic PE/Health Educator Wanted for Melbourne's West

A dynamic and passionate PE/Health educator is sought to join a vibrant Catholic school in Melbourne's West. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to inspire and teach students in Years 7-10 within a collaborative and supportive school community.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and Implement Engaging PE Lessons: Develop and deliver developmentally appropriate PE lessons that align with the Victorian Curriculum, promoting students' physical and mental well-being.
- Provide Clear Instruction and Demonstration: Offer clear guidance and demonstration of movement skills, sports techniques, and fitness exercises to ensure students' understanding and proficiency.
- Teach Health and Well-being Topics: Integrate health education components into PE lessons, promoting students' understanding of health-related topics such as nutrition, hygiene, mental health, and the benefits of physical activity.
- Conduct Physical Fitness Assessments: Evaluate students' strength, flexibility, endurance, and cardiovascular fitness levels through various assessments.
- Maintain a Safe Learning Environment: Implement appropriate safety procedures and risk management strategies during physical activities and sports to ensure a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Organize and Maintain PE Equipment: Ensure PE equipment, sports gear, and facilities are safe, functional, and accessible for students.
- Assess Student Progress: Evaluate students' progress and achievement in PE through various forms of assessment, such as skill demonstrations, performance tasks, fitness tests, and written assignments.
- Unrestricted Working Rights in Australia: Must have unrestricted working rights in Australia.
- VIT Registration: Hold a valid VIT registration.
- Understanding of the Victorian Curriculum: Have a strong understanding of the Victorian Curriculum and experience teaching in Victoria or Australia.
- Teaching Qualification: Possess a minimum 4-year bachelor's degree containing a teaching qualification, with further study an advantage.
- References: Provide contact details for two education-based references from within the last 5 years from upper management.
- Catholic Values and Traditions: Have an understanding and appreciation of Catholic teachings, values, and traditions, or be prepared to work within the Catholic system.
- Full-time Position: A full-time position commencing immediately, extending into 2025.
- Teaching PE/Health: Teach PE/Health to students in Years 7-10.
- Collaborative Team: Collaborate with an approachable and transparent leadership team.
