Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team in Australia. As a key member of our content acquisition and production team, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to our local production business, Warner Bros. International Television Production Australia Pty Limited.
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate, draft, and review agreements related to content acquisition, production, and distribution, including development and co-development agreements, format option and license agreements, and production and co-production agreements.
- Advise on production subsidies, tax incentives, and other regulatory matters in Australia.
- Assist with the assessment of potential production partners and third-party production services providers.
- Finalize production and finance agreements, including taking security and reviewing insurances.
- Work closely with our global legal team to implement company policies and procedures.
- Perform other related business and administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5+ years of post-qualification experience in a similar role.
- Experience negotiating and drafting scripted development and production agreements is essential.
- Experience working with an Australian production company, broadcaster, or major law firm is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple priorities, and excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and drafting skills, with the ability to explain complex issues simply and clearly.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage own workload semi-autonomously.
