About the Role

This is a permanent opportunity to lead a team in our Telecommunications Sector. You will be based in Brisbane and enjoy hybrid working conditions with monthly travel in QLD.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Forecast, plan, manage and report on the current and future Program of Works and its associated budget and costs.
  • Support the Construction Team in efficiently delivering construction works to ensure optimal profitability for the project.
Accountabilities:
  • Safety and Environment: Promote a strong safety culture, ensure policies and procedures are adhered to, manage risks and incidents, and endorse corporate initiatives.
  • Programme and Resource Management: Forecast and plan detailed construction works in accordance with the Program of Work, create a project plan and schedule, manage BOQ items, financial contract sums, subcontractors, traffic management, LAAN access notices, variations, and CARs.
  • Finance: Ensure BOQ items are ordered in a timely manner to meet construction schedules, review variations, develop forecasted costs, validate expenditure against budget, and perform financial forecasting.
  • Quality and Contract Management: Be fully conversant with the contract, review KPIs and lead indicators, analyze results, and facilitate improvement initiatives.
  • Leadership: Lead a team of project engineers and engineers, fostering a team culture of ownership and excellence, provide mentorship and guidance.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have experience working with NBN projects.

  • Degree in Engineering (Civil or related)
  • Project Management qualifications (PMBOK / PMP / Prince 2)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience carrying out large-scale projects
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience
  • Cost management and finance principles
  • Knowledge of commercial management
