Supporting Diagnostic Services:

The team that oversees the reception in Medical Imaging plays a vital role in supporting diagnostic services. They manage patient interactions, coordinate appointments, handle referrals, and maintain smooth communication between patients, radiographers, and clinical staff.

Led by the supervisor, this group ensures front-of-house operations run efficiently and compassionately, maintaining the flow of medical imaging services, including X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and ultrasounds.

As part of a patient-centred care system, they work closely with referring clinicians and allied health professionals to support both inpatient and outpatient imaging needs.

The supervisor has immediate oversight of the day-to-day running of the reception area, overseeing administrative and clerical service functions, including reception, patient coordination, billing, and clinical information.

Key responsibilities include improving processes for managing inpatients and outpatients, implementing new processes, and providing input on process improvements.
