Secure Communications Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to join our team as a Secure Communications Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and play a critical role in the receipt, custody, handling, accounting, distribution, safeguarding, and destruction of all communications security material.

This role involves providing support services for Defence Secret Network, Joint Capabilities Group High Assurance Cryptographic infrastructure, and Defence and Defence Industry High Assurance Cryptographic infrastructure. You will also be responsible for equipment installation, maintenance, repair, and removal, as well as cryptographic accounting, re-key duties, checks, and destructions.

You will manage material and equipment spares and future holdings, conduct annual audits, inspections, and group activities, provide support to COMSEC Incident Reporting and Investigations, and perform accounting processes, procedures, and audits associated with COMSEC devices and material.

This position participates in an on-call 24/7 support roster in support of delivering our COMSEC Services. An additional remuneration benefit known as Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP) is available for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Defence Secret Network support services;
  • Support Joint Capabilities Group (JCG) High Assurance Cryptographic infrastructure;
  • Support Defence and Defence Industry High Assurance Cryptographic infrastructure;
  • Equipment installation, maintenance, repair, and removal;
  • Cryptographic accounting; re-key duties, checks, and destructions;

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

You will also need to have a strong understanding of cryptographic principles and practices, and be able to apply this knowledge in a real-world setting.
