About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker with Edmen Community Staffing Solutions, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities. Our team provides round-the-clock care and support to people living with disabilities in various settings, including residential, community access, and supported independent living (SIL).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities to individuals with disabilities.
  • Foster a supportive and empowering environment that promotes independence and inclusion.
  • Assist clients in maintaining a clean and safe living space, including light housekeeping and meal preparation.
  • Support clients in accessing community resources, transportation, and social activities.
  • Administer medication and monitor health conditions, as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of client progress, care plans, and any incidents.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity and respect for cultural diversity, personal preferences, and individual needs.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and the care team to ensure continuity of care.
  • Respond to emergencies and crisis situations with appropriate care and intervention.
  • Uphold ethical standards and maintain confidentiality regarding client information.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and guidelines to ensure the well-being of clients and yourself.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a positive and nurturing relationship with clients.
Requirements
  • Hold a Certificate III in Community Services, Individual Support, Disabilities or similar.
  • Australian Drivers Licence (P2 or higher).
  • NT Working with Children Check.
  • NDIS Worker Check.
  • Current First Aid & CPR certificate.
  • The ability to work a mixture of day, night, and weekend shifts as required.
