The Site Security Controller is a critical role that requires strategic oversight of protective security across governance, personnel and physical security to assist continuous delivery of business operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering a culture where personnel have a high-degree of security awareness reinforced through practices that embed security into entity operations.
They will ensure that the organization meets security requirements for contracts and agreements it holds with government entities and supports wider security operations as required.
- Be the first point of contact for security advice and incident response.
- Develop and maintain security policies and plans.
- Conduct regular threat and risk assessments to assess suitability of security posture in specific areas.
- Conduct regular security audits to ensure business activities remain within required accreditation or regulatory standards.
- Where required, conduct direct engagement with external accreditation and regulatory bodies on specific matters directly relating to operational security activities.
- Conduct investigations and incident responses in critical circumstances to maintain protection of business operations and staff.
- Provide specific details of key security content pertaining to their area where required to feed security managers' liaison with external and internal comms relating to investigations or incidents.
- Conduct effective, consistent and comprehensive operational security activities within the organization to ensure optimum security performance.
- Establish effective procedures to achieve security outcomes that are consistent with government policies and legal requirements.
- Fostering a positive security culture where personnel understand their responsibilities to manage security risk.
- Ensure information and security awareness training programs are in place so personnel (including personnel and contractors located or travelling overseas) understand their security obligations.
- Establish security performance measures to ensure the required protections are achieved.
- Disseminate and manage intelligence and threat information to stakeholders across the entity.
- Manage Australian Defence Industry Security Program requirements including reporting and security clearances.
- Directly manage access control, security keys and the security of information in the facility.
- Travel to sites to review security controls, conduct staff training and to provide security-related presentations as required.
