Accounts Receivable and Collections Specialist

The role of an Accounts Receivable and Collections Specialist involves ensuring the accuracy and completeness of customer accounts by performing regular reconciliations between customer records, payments, and internal financial systems. This includes investigating discrepancies, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining accurate documentation to support financial integrity and customer satisfaction.

This role also entails investigating, analyzing, and resolving claims submitted by customers or clients. It ensures timely and accurate claim processing, effective communication with stakeholders, and oversight of AR Ledger management, debt collection, and debtor reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of AR Ledger, debt collection, and provision of detailed debtor reporting and analysis
  • Identification, review, and escalation of accounts as required
  • Provision of insights and driving of AR performance improvements through fostering a continuous improvement mindset
  • Maintenance of Customer Master Data records, ensuring their accuracy
  • Bank Reconciliation, Remittance Reconciliations, and allocation of Customer Payments
  • Timely and accurate reconciliation of customer accounts, identification of account issues, and resolution thereof through collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Assistance with reconciling payments and process adjustments or reallocations as necessary
  • Maintenance and reconciliation of Chargeback Journal Account
  • End of Month Customer Statement Generation
  • Support for Month-end reporting and closing
  • Claim Management – Entry, investigation, and resolution of a large volume of Claims, in conjunction with both internal and external stakeholders across multiple systems
  • Ad hoc Duties – Including actioning multiple high-volume shared inboxes, responding to customer queries in a timely manner
  • Support in preparing weekly and monthly AR & Sales Reporting for both external and internal stakeholders
  • Attendance at customer meetings to discuss account issues
