We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Program Manager to lead the development and implementation of strategic risk awareness and community preparedness programs.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing complex programs from conception to execution, with a strong ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including internal teams, external partners, and community groups.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver risk awareness and community preparedness strategies that align with NSW Government objectives and community needs.
- Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, councils, community groups, NGOs, and the private sector to gather insights and coordinate program delivery.
- Oversee the creation of awareness and behaviour change objectives for disaster preparedness, especially for vulnerable or hard-to-reach communities.
- Support local preparedness analysis and planning with strategic guidance based on best practices, data, and local knowledge.
- Develop governance approaches for collaborative decision-making and provide regular progress reports, presentations, and updates.
- Align strategies with broader NSW Government initiatives and integrate program activities with other projects and processes.
- Establish program logic, outcomes, KPIs, and tracking mechanisms to monitor progress, drive continuous improvement, and evaluate impact.
- Lead and guide program strategy teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation, and mentoring and developing team members.
You are a strategic thinker with a proven track record in managing complex programs from conception to execution. Your ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders is matched by your deep knowledge of disaster preparedness and resilience.
You excel in gathering and utilizing community insights to drive effective strategies and are skilled in developing public communications and media strategies. With expert project or change management experience, you are adept at developing large-scale, state-wide strategies and are familiar with community development principles.
Your leadership style promotes collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within your team.
Requirements- Proven track record in managing complex programs from start to finish, including goal-setting, KPI development, and successful delivery within budget and on time.
- Strong ability to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including internal teams, external partners, and community groups.
- In-depth knowledge of disaster preparedness and resilience best practices, methodologies, and frameworks.
- Skilled in gathering and utilizing community insights through quantitative and qualitative research methods.
- Experience in developing public communications and media strategies, including setting objectives and targeting specific audiences.
- Understanding of emergency management arrangements and NSW legislation, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in project or change management.
- Familiarity with community development principles and local dynamics, capable of creating state-wide strategies that coordinate with diverse stakeholders.
