Job Title: Excavation Operations Coordinator

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Spoil Manager to oversee spoil management on a major infrastructure project. This role involves planning, logistics, compliance, and stakeholder engagement relating to excavation, handling, transport, and disposal of spoil material generated across tunnelling and surface operations.

The Spoil Manager will play a critical role in ensuring spoil activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with environmental and project requirements.

About the Role
  • Develop and implement the project's spoil management strategy.
  • Engage with key stakeholders regarding spoil activities.
  • Coordinate spoil movement from tunnelling and surface excavation works.
  • Manage spoil haulage logistics, including fleet coordination and interface with site teams.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and waste management requirements.
  • Monitor and report on spoil volumes, destinations, and material classifications.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience managing spoil, materials or logistics on large-scale projects.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Understanding of environmental and regulatory requirements for spoil handling and disposal.
  • Ability to coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and haulage fleets.
  • High-level planning, scheduling and organisational skills.
