About the RoleThe role of a midwife involves providing evidence-based care for expectant mothers from indigenous backgrounds throughout their pregnancy and postnatal period.
- This includes antenatal and postnatal care in community settings, local healthcare facilities, family organizations, and home visits.
- Provide maternity services for indigenous women giving birth in Mount Isa.
- Work a flexible roster that meets the needs of the community.
- Participate in an on-call roster as required.
- A relevant tertiary qualification and registration as a registered midwife are essential.
- A postgraduate qualification or enrollment in a relevant program is highly desirable.
- A valid driver's license is also required.
