About the Role

As a DES Employment Consultant at Scope Australia Group, you will play a vital role in supporting adults with disabilities to overcome barriers to employment. Your primary responsibility will be to coach and provide one-on-one support to individuals with disabilities, helping them to identify their employment interests and current skills, and develop individualized job plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Job Search Support: Run assisted group and individual job search sessions to help clients develop their job search skills and strategies.
  • Business Liaison: Liaise and negotiate with local businesses, employers, industry, and other organizations to job carve or effectively refer clients to suitable opportunities.
  • Training and Development: Develop individualized training plans and deliver/facilitate individual and group learning activities and training to help clients develop the skills and knowledge needed to secure and maintain employment.
  • Assessment and Support: Assess work requirements, abilities, and interests to identify suitable employment opportunities for clients, and provide ongoing support to help them achieve their employment goals.
  • Administrative Support: Ensure efficiency and compliance with administrative processes, and maximize client participation in the workplace.
Requirements
  • Experience: Previous experience in recruitment, employment services, or relationship building, with a focus on supporting individuals with disabilities.
  • Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, employers, and other stakeholders.
  • Administrative Skills: Strong administration and report writing skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Qualifications and Certifications: Current NSW Driver's License (P2 and above) and a valid Working with Children Check, First Aid, and CPR certifications.
