Key Responsibilities:- Leadership and Management: Develop, coach, counsel, and direct Meat Department personnel, actively monitoring and providing feedback for performance improvement.
- Employment and Training: Participate in the employment process, making recommendations for hiring, promotion, and termination. Ensure that all employees receive comprehensive training and development opportunities.
- Operations and Logistics: Review department profit and loss statements, developing and implementing sales and merchandising plans. Determine production requirements, participate in meat cutting, and oversee merchandise presentation and merchandising.
- Customer Service: Provide prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and vendors. Ensure that all customer interactions are handled in a professional and respectful manner.
- Health and Safety: Ensure health code compliance through regular review of sanitation logs. Implement proper maintenance and repairs for machinery and equipment.
- Communication: Clearly articulate information, both verbally and in writing. Actively listen to employees, members, and other managers to efficiently address department issues.
- Member Service: Exhibit a professional demeanor, maintain composure under stress, and unselfishly serve others. Provide constructive feedback, teach employees, and address problems or conflicts.
- Self-Motivated: Well-organised, able to prioritise tasks, delegate appropriately, and adhere to deadlines. Maintain honesty, integrity, and high levels of efficiency and accuracy.
- Team Player: Relate well to various personalities, empower and lead employees, create positive morale, and delegate responsibilities effectively.
- Flexibility: Adjust positively to change, focus on multiple tasks during a shift, respond professionally to constructive criticism, and adjust the work schedule as necessary.
We are looking for a candidate with experience in meat cutting, management, employee relations, customer service, or comparable experience. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) is required. Food Safety Certification and Butcher/Trade Qualification are also essential.
