Key Responsibilities

  1. Design and implement network security architectures, including firewalls, Network Access Control (NAC) systems, and security monitoring tools.
  2. Collaborate with vendor specialists to optimize designs and achieve desired outcomes.
  3. Develop comprehensive documentation for solution designs and standard operating procedures.
  4. Provide operational support and maintain cyber tools proactively.
  5. Support Validation and Verification (V&V) activities and assess technical risks to provide mitigation options.

Requirements

  1. Proven experience in defense as a Senior Network Security Technician.
  2. Strong knowledge of applying cybersecurity controls and practices aligned with zero-trust architecture principles.
  3. Expertise in network security, including firewalls, NAC, security monitoring, network automation, logging, and auditing.
  4. Hands-on experience with Fortinet, Ansible, and Cisco products.
  5. Proficiency in Nutanix, VMware, and hypervisor technologies.
  6. Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  7. Ability to work independently and within a team.

Desirable Skills

  1. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
  2. Familiarity with Australian Defence Force environments and networking constraints.
  3. Knowledge of Australian Information Security Manual (ISM) and US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) frameworks.
  4. Experience with SEA2273 Minerva systems.

Additional Requirements

  1. Compliance with US International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR) for handling export-controlled ICT products.
